ESC IX: Townsville Denies A GAS Three-Peat
Townsville avoided being victims of the first three peat in Classic history by defeating the Ghetto All-Stars 20-13, recording their fourth championship. Townsville's 20 runs are the most runs a Mojojojos team had recorded in a single game.
This was the first ESC to be played at Cunningham Park.
- Sergio wants to be in a video next year.
- In the top of the 9th inning, George walked over to Roger at second base expressing his dismay at his batting performance for the day. Roger informed George that he to had gone 0 for 5 with 5 strikeouts once, back in ESC III. "And look at me now George, captain of one of the teams!" Roger then extended his right arm towards the heavens. "You're on the right path. All of this could be yours." As soon as that sentence was completed, a couple of birds appeared and flew across the field.
-Afro Mike mistook Roger's at-bat song, Natalie Portman's SNL rap, as Lil Kim. Mike told Roger he didn't like that he listened to "this type of music".
-Mark did not make the last out. He had had the dubious honor in the two previous contests.
--Every player on GAS had a walk except Scott. Every Mojojojo had a
run scored. Hitting stars included Reese, who was 4/6, and Jimmy who
was 2/3 with two doubles. Jimmy was the only All-Star with an extra
base hit.
---Townsville was hit four times.
---Somehow, both teams made five errors... it felt like GAS made way more
