Things to Note While Being Roger Ruled...
-This was the 2nd consecutive week that a first time captain was victorious as Sergio defeated Mike.
-The game started roughly an hour later than anticipated. Not helping matters was the length of the bottom of the first as This Far or THIS Far sent 11 batters to the plate, 8 of whom reached base and, of those, 6 scored.
-Christos and CJ were the defensive stars as CJ made several running grabs in centerfield while Christos made several STERLING plays at shortstop. He turned a double play on Pepe in the 2nd, robbed Sergio with a lunging catch of a line drive in the 5th, and threw out Kojo at the plate with an on the money relay throw in the 8th.
-Speaking of Sergio, he had a HARD (i.e. bad) luck 0-6 day. In addition to the aforementioned theft, Sergio flied out twice to right and hit the ball right at Christos two other times, with a line drive to the first baseman thrown in for good measure. But hey, he was the winning captain so uhh fuck it, amirite?
-In the first, it appeared that Jimmy was thrown at first base by a good margin. Jimmy disagreed and said that 1B Brian's foot was this far _____ or THIS far _________________ from the base. Confusion ensued. The possibility of awarding half of an out and half of a run to each team was considered...and quickly dismissed as ridiculous.
-In the first two innings, Wilson gave up 8 runs on ten hits. Over the next 5 innings, he would allow 4 runs on 6 hits. What a cool and just all-around excellent guy that guy is.
-It was the defense.
-In the 5th inning, CJ slid into 3rd, rolling Jimmy's ankle in the process. Scott immediately called in to say that Jimmy was fine.
-He didn't clearly see the collision but Wilson swore that CJ missed Jimmy's ankle by this much ___ or maybe even THIS much ____________.
-Everyone on TFoTF had at least 2 hits except Carlos and Vince.
-Kevin, Chun, Larry and Vince combined for what I believe to be the first All-Asian outfield since any time that there's a baseball game played in Asia. They combined to go 8-for-15 with 5 runs, 6 rbi, 3 walks and 3 extra base hits.
-Flake Village (so named because most of the inhabitants of Flake Village were picked by Sergio) had 3 members arrive after the start of the game. They (the 9-10-11 hitters) combined to go 3-for-9 with 7 runs, 7 rbi, 4 walks, a hbp and 3 extra base hits.
-Larry (Larry?) provided excellent relief from the 4th inning to the 7th allowing only 2 runs on 3 hits (Larry!) before faltering in the 8th.
-This is likely the first game all season in which the heavily favored team actually won. Despite TFoTF's attempts to "Roger-Rule" the game by saying things like "Who picked these fucking teams?" and "Fuck it, I ain't playing!" and "What the fuck, we lost" and "Oh, oh, oh, I'm Roger, look at me, I suck." The reverse jinx did not work this week, fellas.
-"Oh-shh-waaaaaaaaaa" -The sound Brian makes when he thinks he's going to be hit in the head with a pitch.
-"Yeah, in this league we play with 4 balls equals a walk." -Roger, to new guy Joe.
-"Hahahaha...what a dick." -CJ, 4 seconds later.
-"OH! OH! OH! OH!! OH!!!!...still a dick" -Brian, after Christos' tremendous diving play.
-Vince made an excellent throw from left field to gun out CJ at home in the 3rd inning.
-"Alvin? At first base?" -Mark, each of the 4 innings in which Alvin played first base.
-In relief, Brian and CJ combined for 2 ip, 3 k and no extra-base hits allowed.
-The date for End of Summer Classic X: Do The Right Thing was finally announced (August 28). For the first time since 2005, the annual Snakes vs. Planes game will not take place prior to the ESC.
- Mangan threw out Kevin from shallow left field with a no-look one-hop laser
relay throw!!! Which he almost avoided by making a ridiculous ninja
air-bicycle move!!! Yet Sergio awesomely managed to reach way up and
tag him out anyway!!! It was a ridiculous play!!!
ACT 1
Christos: (meekly) throw the ball. throw the ball? throw the ball.

Mark (stares into space)

(fire erupts from ground, evil sounding music plays)
Mark: dur? (throws the ball)

- "Heavily favored"?! Really?!....Fuck you guys!
- In the 3rd inning when CJ was gunned out by Vince he was running
toward home fully confident he would make it standing...However, when
the lazerbeam that was Vince's throw passed by CJ's left side, CJ
uttered "what the fuck" as he realized Vince had just gunned him out.
- Roger continued Joe's warm welcome by groping his biceps
ever-so-gently as he mad his way to second base from first in bottom
of the 6th.
- Larry actually came into the game in the 5th inning after Cap'n Mike
imploded and gave up the 4-run cushion his team valiantly created.
- And WHO THE FUCK gave Mangan a triple?! That hit took a lucky bounce
in front of Vince and flew 10 feet over his head and past him. Thats
sum fuckin bullshit!
